Selected Projects

Marquesan Island Culture

Miss Tahiti 2018 Garment

For Miss Tahiti 2018, I created an award-winning garment that earned First Prize, working with model Ravahere Munoz Lucero. Drawing inspiration from the rich cultural heritage of the Marquesas Islands, I designed a piece that celebrated the essence of Marquesian artistry - from traditional tattoos and tapa cloth to hunting implements and intricate carvings.

I crafted this unique costume using a diverse range of materials, including EVA foam, wood filler, and custom-made tapa-inspired fabric created with wood glue. The piece was adorned with authentic Marquesian seeds, feathers, and pig teeth, and featured thermoplastic elements. This creation allowed me to showcase my deep respect for Polynesian craftsmanship while demonstrating my ability to blend traditional elements with modern materials.

Te Aito (Warrior)

Mister Tahiti 2017 Garment

For the Mister Tahiti 2017 competition, I created an award-winning costume that earned First Prize. Working with model Kevin Richmond, I designed a powerful "Warrior Te Aito" ensemble that drew inspiration from the strength and presence of gladiators.

I incorporated traditional Polynesian craftsmanship through Auti leaf Hawaiian braiding techniques, while combining modern materials like EVA Foam with natural elements such as bark fibers. This piece exemplifies my ability to blend cultural traditions with contemporary design elements.

Orio the Tahitian Goddess of the Sea

Miss Papeete 2015 Garment

For the Miss Papeete 2015 competition, I created an ethereal costume inspired by Orio, the Tahitian Goddess of the Sea, and the mystical world of mermaids. Working with model Mahealani Tetuanui, I crafted an award-winning garment using oyster shells, delicate mesh, and black pearls. This piece, which earned first prize, beautifully captured the essence of Polynesian mythology while showcasing my ability to work with luxurious natural materials.

Tuhuka

Modelling

As a Tuhuka (master), I had the honor of collaborating with Moana Blackstone on a significant photoshoot project that celebrated the rich heritage of Marquesan culture. My work was featured prominently across Tahiti on billboards and merchandise, reaching a wide audience. The project comprised a compelling series of portraits that showcased the beautiful diversity of Polynesian culture, allowing me to share our traditional artistry with the world.

‘Uo’uo Dress

Miss Punaauia 2015 Garment

For the Miss Punaauia 2015 competition, I created an award-winning wedding-inspired design that captured first prize in the vegetal costume category. Working with my model Vairea Cabaret, I crafted an ethereal white dress using natural materials including bleached coconut leaf fiber, white bougainvillea flowers, mesh, and traditional bark fiber. The piece, themed "Uouo" (white), demonstrated my ability to transform organic materials into elegant haute couture.

Paris Moscow en Chanel Runway

Le Conservatoire du Maquillage de Paris

For my Fashion Makeup Examination at Le Conservatoire du Maquillage de Paris in 2016, I created a complete look inspired by the elegance of Paris, the grandeur of Moscow, and the timeless sophistication of Chanel. This total look project showcased my expertise in makeup artistry, hair styling, and fashion design.

I crafted an innovative ensemble using a unique combination of materials including lino, shells, mosaic, cardboard, and gemstones, all brought together with touches of metallic gold spray paint. This piece demonstrated my ability to blend different cultural influences while maintaining a cohesive, haute couture aesthetic.
